The weather was looking uncertain heading into the weekend, and by mid-week, many believed the best option was to cancel the opening round of the Super Tour season. But the Angers twins and the Luskville Dragway team were determined to go ahead… and it turned out to be the right call!

After Fridayโ€™s racing was cancelled due to heavy rain, the skies cleared up Saturday afternoon, giving way to sunshine for the remainder of the weekend. Saturday featured a dominant performance by the Angers family, with a memorable double win. Frank Angers, the father from Laval, claimed the Super Pro victory in his Diamond Dragster over Brock Godmaire of Kirkland Lake in a Chevy Corvette. In this tight final, Angers took a .003 lead off the line and ran dead-on his dial, crossing the stripe just .009 ahead of Godmaire. Meanwhile, in Junior, his son Mavrick Angers captured the win for the family with a victory of his own.

In Footbrake, local driver Pat Alarie delivered a home-track win in his Mustang over Sara Harling of Sudbury in a Grand Am. With a .031 reaction time, Alarie locked in the win as Harling broke out.

On Sunday, the 2023 national champion Brock Godmaire came back looking for redemption, and he delivered with a second final round appearance in as many days. This time, he squared off against Max Gauthieu of Kingston, ON, in a Chevy Vega. The final was very close with only a thousandth separated them at the hit, and Godmaire crossed the line just .002 ahead for the win.

In Footbrake, the victory went to Yvan Grenier of Rouyn-Noranda in his Cutlass, defeating Dominic Germain of La Prairie. Germain broke out by just 3 thousandths, giving the win to Grenier, who ran only 9 thousandths over his dial.

In Junior, Mavrick Angers capped off a perfect weekend with a second straight win.
