The Fall Bracket Showdown was all sunshine this past weekend as Super Tour racers converged at Luskville Dragway for one final weekend at the track this season. Presented by Speedy Auto Gatineau in collaboration with Atelier Mécanique CLR and Honeywell Works, the event did not disappoint, delivering three full days of great racing action.
Friday night kicked things off with the Gambler’s Race, where Cody Levasseur of North Bay got the job done in Super Pro, taking the win over Laval’s Fred Angers, who was behind the wheel of his brother’s dragster. Levasseur was .004 on the tree and took .015 at the stripe for the win, while Angers posted a .017 reaction time. Former Super Tour Champions Brock Godmaire and Kyle Jessup rounded out the semifinalists.
In Footbrake, another racer from up North found the Winner’s Circle as Ashley Muttart took the win over Steve Duquette of Rouyn-Noranda. Muttart was .039 on the tree and was able to lift before the finish line for the easy win after Duquette got out of the groove at mid-track. Mike Rowlanfs was the lone semifinalist.
Saturday’s action saw “Killer” Kyle Jessup return to the Winner’s Circle for the second time this season, earning career win #6 on the Super Tour circuit by defeating Jonathan Cormier of Rouyn-Noranda in the final.
Only two thousandths separated the two racers on the tree, with Jessup taking the stripe by .018. Cormier slowed a couple of numbers after getting slightly out of the groove while driving hard toward the finish line. Jamie Clarmo and Mike Chenier were the semifinalists.
On the Footbrake side, Dominic Germain of Napierville got the best of fellow Fox Body Mustang racer Pat Proulx of Lacolle in the final. Germain grabbed a .014 advantage at the hit and turned it into the win, running one over with an 8 while Proulx got out in front and broke out. The lone semifinalist was Paul Perron.
Saturday’s Winner’s Circle presentation also gave us one of the most special moments of the entire weekend. Thanks to an initiative from Solange and Gerry Lefebvre, racers came together to pay tribute to one of the true legends of Quebec drag racing, Jean Bergeron. Mr. Bergeron celebrated his 85th birthday this year and has been competing for more than 65 years, still racing today in the Super Pro category.
To recognize his incredible dedication to the sport, fellow racers presented Mr. Bergeron with a framed photo of him and his race car, along with a cash gift that will cover his racing expenses for the final Super Tour event of the season later this September.
It was a great moment that showed what our racing community is all about and a well-deserved tribute to a man who has dedicated more than six decades of his life to the sport. Congratulations to Mr. Jean Bergeron on an incredible racing career, and we wish him continued success for many more trips down the eight-mile!
Sunday brought plenty of familiar faces back into the late rounds, with Saturday semifinalist Jamie Clarmo of Metcalfe, Ontario getting it done against Friday runner-up Fred Angers.
Clarmo was absolutely flawless in the final, perfect on the tree and dead-on 6, leaving Angers virtually no room to work with despite his .014 light. Saturday winner Kyle Jessup was the lone semifinalist.
Footbrake belonged to Sacha Leblanc, who scored his second Super Tour victory of the season by defeating Darryl Jensen of Kemptville, Ontario. Jensen turned on the red light in the final, handing the win to the young racer from Valleyfield, Quebec. Franco Cantusci and Stephan Ballantyne were the semifinalists.
In the Junior category, Hayley Angers took Saturday’s victory over her cousin Logan Angers with Miguel Nadeau being the semifinalist, while Sunday belonged to Mavrick Angers, who defeated Emy Roberge in the final with Julia Malcolm being the semifinalist.
With another big weekend now in the books, all eyes turn to the 2026 KING OF THE TOUR standings. The Top 12 should see some serious movement following the results from Luskville, and we’ll have the updated picture in the coming days.
The final races of the 2026 Super Tour season will take place September 25–26 at Napierville Dragway for the CANADIAN BRACKET FINALS, presented by Attaches Châteauguay in collaboration with Frank Mastro l’électricien and S.M. Transport.
Two races remain. One championship is on the line. And at the end of it all, we will crown our very first KING OF THE TOUR Champion!
